June 2026 Lyra came to us as an owner surrender. She was not bred by me, but was referred to me for re-homing by an out of state Dalmatian breeder. She was surrendered because her family no longer wanted her nor had time for her after the addition of a human baby to their family. This is sad, because Lyra is a very lovely girl with a sweet temperament and gentle personality and she just needed some training to acclimate to a toddler. She loves to play with toys and other dogs, she even will share her todays and encourages engagement with in her circle of friends, which include Redbones, Dalmatians and Shar Pei. She is good off leash and has good house manners. Lyra would make an excellent companion and performance competitor as she is very willing to please. One of her only faults is she sometimes can be head shy while putting a slip lead over her head (she has become much better since we have had her, and will continue to improve)
August 2026 Lyra is now healthy and at an appropriate weight, so she can now be spayed. We are working on getting her AKC registration so that she can be shown in performance events with her new owner(s).

LSDR Adoption Packet - 2026 (pdf)
DownloadAt Loving Spots Dalmatian Rescue, we hold ourselves to the highest standards when it comes to placing our rescues. Our mission is to ensure the best match possible—not just for the adopter, but most importantly, for each Dalmatian. Every dog we place is adopted under a contract that includes a lifetime safety net: a commitment that they must always return to us if their family can no longer care for them.
While we are proud of the lasting connections we create, we understand that many Dalmatians do not start life with a lifelong promise. We see firsthand the results of irresponsible breeding and changing life circumstances. Inspired by the compassion and dedication of our founders, fosters, and volunteers, we opened our hearts and homes to provide sanctuary for Dals in need. Our goal is to give these deserving dogs a second chance by matching them with loving, prepared forever homes.
We know that for many families, an adult or senior Dalmatian—who may already be trained and past the hectic puppy phase—is the absolute perfect fit. We are honored to guide you through the adoption process, offering education and support every step of the way to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your new spotted companion.
Because at Loving Spots, it is about more than just finding a home—it is about a lifelong promise of safety, love, and community.
